Join the People-Centred Advisory Council (PCAC) for Noojmawing Sookatagaing Ontario Health Team (OHT).
Noojmawing Sookatagaing is the OHT for the District and City of Thunder Bay. We prioritize healthcare that understands and reflects the uniqueness of the areas in which we serve. Over 60+ organizations make up the Collaboration Council that governs the work that we do as an OHT, and the PCAC plays an important role in guiding that work.
The PCAC guides the OHT in all levels of decision-making, from the “people-centred” perspective, in alignment with the OHT Vision and goals. People with lived and living experience in accessing services matter and their voice is needed to improve the health care system. The PCAC helps to embed the voice of patients, clients, residents, families, and caregivers into the system planning and co-design of the OHT.
The PCAC meets virtually monthly for 1.5 hours, and 1-2 times a year in person for a half day to full day. Compensation for time is available in order to remove some of the barriers associated with participating in the council.
