INNOVATIVE PARTNERSHIP BRINGS ECHOCARDIOGRAM TESTING TO NIPIGON, IMPROVING LOCAL HEALTHCARE ACCESS

Nipigon, ON – The Nipigon District Memorial Hospital (NDMH) is proud to announce a transformative collaboration with Dr. Lai of Curans Heart Centre to establish an Echocardiogram Testing Clinic in Nipigon, beginning in March 2025. This exciting initiative is a major step forward in improving access to cardiac care for residents across the District of Thunder Bay. The clinic, located within the Urgent Care area of NDMH, will initially operate one day per week, with the flexibility to expand as patient demand and clinic capacity grow.
Adding to the excitement, the clinic will be led by newly hired Curans echo technologist Allyson Lesperance, who is no stranger to the community. A recent graduate and proud resident of Nipigon, Allyson brings her expertise back to her hometown and is honored to contribute to this groundbreaking project.
